Same-Day Instrument Recovery
A urology practice · Molecular PCR
THE SITUATION
For two weeks, a urology practice’s PCR instrument intermittently failed to capture data for full runs. The technologist had no way to know how long testing would be disrupted or when patient results could be released, and every affected run had to be repeated, doubling consumable use.
WHAT NUCARE DID
nuCARE’s Director of Technical Laboratory Operations worked remotely with the technologist through structured troubleshooting: software compatibility, error log review, clearing the run log and resetting the instrument. When remote work could not isolate the problem, nuCARE contacted the manufacturer’s instrument engineer directly. On the strength of that relationship, the engineer was onsite the same afternoon, and nuCARE stayed with the technologist and engineer until the problem was resolved.
THE OUTCOME
Patient testing resumed with minimal interruption, results were released without delaying treatment, and the repeat runs and wasted consumables stopped.
