Procurement & Vendor Services

Buy with nuCARE’s weight behind you

Laboratory procurement is more than ordering supplies — it is a strategic function that directly impacts cost, quality, and operational continuity. nuCARE’s Procurement & Vendor Services team leverages
established relationships and deep product knowledge to help laboratories source the right reagents, consumables, and equipment at competitive pricing.

A laboratory negotiating alone is priced on its own volume and waits in the same support queue as everyone else. nuCARE’s long-standing relationships with manufacturers and vendors change both. Our
clients get stronger contract terms, faster escalation when equipment or reagents fail, and pricing their volume alone would not earn.

What's Included

How we choose and hold vendors

Before a product reaches a client laboratory, nuCARE qualifies the manufacturer: its quality systems, certifications and production standards must meet or exceed applicable regulatory and industry expectations. Where applicable, we also perform independent testing, evaluating products against performance criteria consistent with industry method-validation standards.

We weigh every purchasing decision in the same order: quality first, then cost, then reliability, then speed. Suppliers are held to 95% or better on-time delivery, and any quality or compliance incident triggers a vendor review.

Contracts that protect you

A new laboratory was finalizing a 72-month agreement for general chemistry and immunoassay equipment with a major diagnostics manufacturer. The terms required a $30,000 monthly reagent minimum and a $48,000 annual service fee, heavy fixed costs during startup, when volume is still building. nuCARE renegotiated the agreement:

nuCARE also secured an early-termination clause and a provision calculating the minimum on average total reagent spend rather than per analyte.

The reagent reduction represents purchasing flexibility, not guaranteed cash savings; actual purchases depend on testing volume.

When a vendor problem stalls your lab

During validation, seven analytes at a physician-owned laboratory would not perform. Some took nearly two months to resolve, and one was finally traced to an error in the original equipment installation. The laboratory lost about three months. nuCARE escalated directly to vendor leadership to get the technical resources committed, then negotiated compensation for the delay: an $11,000 credit toward validation reagents, well beyond the direct cost of the original reagent issue.

Same-day supplies

When a multispecialty group needed supplies faster than any standard shipping option, nuCARE pushed vendors to expedite, picked up products ourselves and arranged same-day courier delivery.

Pricing beyond your volume

A multispecialty group needed a revenue cycle management partner. Through nuCARE’s existing relationship with an RCM firm, the group secured preferred pricing it could not have obtained on its own volume.
